Disclaimer: I have a working relationship with Fujifilm, and as many of my readers already know I shot some of the marketing materials with their flagship GFX 100 camera last year. I originally tried out the X-Pro 2 in May 2018 while speaking at the launch for the GFX 100 in Japan. While working with...
GREAT RUNDOWN ON A WONDERFUL CAMERA. YOUR TRAVEL IMAGES PROVE THAT! NEVER SELLING? THAT IS A TRUE TRIBUTE!
Good article and very well written. But I have a question: You mentioned the mhg-xpro3 handgrip and that it has arca swiss plate. In the product description it’s also written, that it comes with arca swiss plate. but on the pictures i cannot see or recognize any arca swiss slot. Can you show more picture or confirm how it works. Thanks a lot
Andre – Good catch. The Arca-Swiss plate was mentioned in Fujifilm marketing materials for the MHG-XPOR3 grip but when you get the grip there is no such Arca-Swiss plate on the bottom. Hence, it is just a grip, but still nice to have with larger lenses on the camera. I will update the blog post–forgot I had that in there.
Thank you MicHael
Thank you for this excellent REview which is all the more convincing because of your experience with another and quite different professional Grade System. I have Used the X-Pro3 (& D5) for the last three years or so and entirely agree with your comments. In fact for some time I have wondered whether I need to keep my D5 for my occasional sports (endurance running) tasks; your comments on the Af system of the X-pro3 have motivated me to try it out for these tasks and possibly even sell the bigger heavier SLR system. Like you I shall take my time deciding — as there always seem to be many aspects to consider! I do hope that Fujifilm will continue the X-Pro series now that the 3 is discontinued. I agree that the rear screen is a non-issue and a bold move that I appreciate.
