Last night, on May 20th, 2012, the annular eclipse lined up perfectly for those of us in New Mexico. I drove down to Albuquerque and shot images of the annular eclipse in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains, just above the city of Albuquerque. All of the images in this blog post, save for one,...
Michael, did you just use the vari-ND filter and no other specialty filter for photographing an eclipse? BTW, love the composite!
Sharon – Yes, all I used was the Vari-ND to create these.
Very nice. How many shots did you take in the 80 minutes span?
Pete – I shot 91 images during the eclipse. I tried to shoot an image every 2 minutes or so and I also shot quite a few when the moon was inside the circle of the sun.
Great shots. Just to get an idea, how long did you expose?
Here is my exposure info: ISO 200, f/8.0, 1/1600 sec.
A little too perfect. I think you channeled some of your inner physicist.
Yup, you nailed it Jason. I got a little too scientific with that eclipse shoot….
I love how graphic these are. Great shots, what a nice way to spend 80 minutes!
