hi michael, i was curious how your macbook pairs with the eizo you review here. i know there’s cooling issues with the 2020 mbp’s. i have one. the fans spin up like crazy when simply using photoshop or lightroom, or, watching a 4k video on youtube (chrome). i installed a 3rd party app to disable turbo boost in order to solve the problem of the fans running all the time.
that being said, what has been your experience with using this specific external monitor with your mbp and its cooling methods? is that a recent mbp you’re using with the eizo?

I haven’t had any issues as far as I know. I have 200 TB of hard drives on my desk so that might mask the sound of the computer cooling down. My MacBook Pro is about a year and a half old and seems to work just fine with the Eizo monitors–it is pretty beefed up and has pretty much all of the specs maxed out so it is a fast machine.
If I can just add some comments about NEC monitors with refeerence to yours about the PA series being hard to calibrate, a remark i disagree with. I run a pa272 srectraview and have calibrated it wihout any problems, using basiccolor software.
Thinks Michael for the review. I just ordered the 2700X as it will be my last monitor and I went for the top.. but the 2740 had been on my list for a good while too. I’m bummed that x-rite stopped supporting my spectrophotometer and the 2700x has a good one built in.. Should be here in a couple of days…
